Make a direct Google review link

Put your Place ID in the field. You then get a link. The link opens the Google review box. You also get two messages that you can copy.

That doesn't look like a full Place ID. It usually starts with "ChIJ" and is about 27 characters long.

How to use this

To find your Place ID: search for your business on the Google Place ID Finder. Then copy the ID.

An alternative: open your Google Business Profile and select "Ask for reviews". Google then gives you a link.

Send the link to each customer immediately after the job. Do not give a discount or a gift for a review. Do not ask only the satisfied customers. The FTC and Google prohibit these practices.

Common questions

Can I send the review link in a text message?

Yes, if the person is your customer and gives you permission. Keep the message short. Send it one time, immediately after the job.

Can I give a discount for a review?

No. Google prohibits a reward for a review. The FTC rule on reviews can also apply.
